Support Your Local - Plastic Free July
It is plastic free July, yep another campaign but one which is pretty critically for the survival of the human race. Now we're not going to bleat on about the surf industry, we're slowly changing wetsuits away from oil, research is working hard on changing surfboard blanks, yes we have decided to endorse some of the biggest pollutants by joining the olympics, and we are propping up the oil industry by creating millions of foamies, but that's not what this is about.
The real way to reduce plastic and make a serious difference is to eliminate from our day to day lives. Now we can't always not go to a supermarket, and in some areas they are getting better, but not very fast, so here are some alternatives.
Some are surfer run, all are in or around communities where we all live and surf. There is only a couple to start with but email me - firstname.lastname@example.org and we'll add more.
